PIANO WORKSHOP: CLASSICAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE FROM THE VIENNESE CLASSICAL PERIOD WITH MR. NGUYỄN ĐỨC ANH
On the evening of October 19th, at SIA’s Studio E, we had a meaningful piano workshop with the theme Classical Music Performance from the Viennese Classical Period through Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. This special occasion allowed piano enthusiasts to gain deeper insights into classical music and learn how to creatively and vividly perform these masterpieces today.
Key highlights:
Understanding the historical, political, and social factors that influenced the creation of classical masterpieces.
Exploring the structure of classical piano instruments from that period and how it affects performance techniques.
Recognizing the connection between modern artists and classical composers, enabling the creative and refined performance of Viennese Classical music in today’s context. Artists must not only deeply understand the composer and historical background but also apply modern artistic thinking to elevate their performances.
Led by Nguyễn Đức Anh, professional pianist and Head of Piano Department at SIA, the participants were given valuable insights and unique perspectives from a performing artist. Mr. Đức Anh guided attendees on how to combine a deep understanding of the composer and the music with creative interpretation, ensuring a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation in their performances.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, where Mr. Đức Anh shared more technical tips and exciting approaches for modern pianists.
SIA extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who attended and helped create an inspiring artistic space. We look forward to welcoming you to the next workshops by the Piano Department and the Music Faculty at SIA!
