Flute
Flute class at SIA provides students the ability to build and develop hand-eye coordination and breath control for sound production; enhance their concentration, meticulosity, flexibility and confidence while performing. During the course, students will explore various styles of music and are inspired by the versatility of the instrument. This program also helps students develop a sense of responsibility through the habits of instrument maintenance.
Learning Objectives
– Classical flute – Building a foundation of techniques from basic to advanced levels.
– International musical curriculum.

Learning Outcomes
Beginner Level:
– Accomplish basic flute techniques by practicing Scales and Etude:
+ Basic posture in flute playing
+ Embouchure and sound control
+ Breath control + Legato
– Basic sight-reading ability
– Basics of musical instrument maintenance
Intermediate Level:
– Acquire all knowledge and skills of Beginner level
– Approach musical periods and genres (Baroque, Classical, Romantic…), improve techniques and musical interpretations in compositions for the Flute.
– Maintain and advance sound production techniques.
– Develop musicality through performance and sight-reading skills
– Preparation procedure before playing
Advanced Level:
– Acquire all knowledge and skills of Beginner and Intermediate level.
– Understand and be able to execute all standard techniques of sound production
– Improve intonation
– Encourage self-expression through performance.
