Music Programmes
SIA Music Curriculum is focused on four aspects of learning:
- Building a strong technical and theoretical foundation.
- Applying learned techniques and theories to different genres of music.
- Encouraging creativity through the exploration of improvisation and composition.
- Encouraging performance to showcase learned skills.
Students begin with age-and-level-appropriate syllabi in preparation for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) programmes and the Trinity College London (Trinity) programmes, where students will have the option of specializing in classical or rock and pop genres.
Programme Certifications
Australia Music Examination Board (AMEB)
The Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) is one of the most respected bodies in this field. AMEB's qualifications are recognized as a national benchmark across Australia and internationally. They provide 42 frameworks to structure lessons across a variety of instruments as well as voice. Over 100.000 candidates successfully complete AMEB exams and gain internationally recognized certificates every year.
AMEB examinations are based on syllabi designed by leading scholars and performers for Australian and International students. These syllabi are regularly updated to ensure that they reflect an appropriate range of performance skills and the latest musicological research AMEB exams are recognized within the University systems in Australia and internationally. AMEB exam results are an Australian benchmark for university entry, scholarships, as well as job hunting in Australia and many countries around the world.
Music Teachers’ Board (MTB)
The Music Teacher’s Board is a recognized awarding body regulated by the Ofqual Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation in England) and our Grades 6-8 are eligible for UCAS points, which are equivalent in value to the other Ofqual regulated music boards.
