SOUL MUSIC PATHWAY ROADMAP – PROFESSIONAL PERFORMER
The world of music offers a variety of careers. Often, solo performance is seen as the only route to a career in music. However, there are many other opportunities including composing and arranging music, performing in a wide variety of professional ensembles from orchestras to pit bands, music education and even artist management. As part of its mission to prepare students for careers in music, SMPAA offers two” Soul Music Pathway Roadmaps”. Each “Roadmap” outlines a route for students to follow as they pursue a career in music that they have started at Soul Music and Performing Arts Academy.
SOUL DANCE PATHWAYS ROADMAP
The world of dance offers many opportunities for students who wish to become professional dancers or dance teachers. In almost all cases, a strong background in ballet provides the required technique that can then be combined with training in other dance forms (modern jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, and other genres) and ultimately gives the rising dancer the ability to perform in different companies or groups as well as reach for a solo professional career. As part of its mission to prepare students for careers in dance, SMPAA offers a “Soul Dance Pathway Roadmap” which outlines the route for students to follow beginning with their training at Soul Music and Performing Arts Academy.This booklet outlines the “Pathway Roadmap” for dance and is intended to guide those students who are working towards a career as a professional dancer.
