Strings
String subjects at SIA give students opportunities to discover and explore an important family of musical instruments. Learning string instruments gives students a holistic perspective on music, as well as interactivity and connectivity. String techniques, requiring complex coordination of both hands, also contribute to flexibility and dexterity in the fingers, hands and arms.

Beginner Level
– Complete basic techniques including posture, instrument and bow handling
– Basic instrument maintainance skills
– Accomplish pitch and simple rhythmic control through pieces and exercises

Intermediate Level
– Acquire all knowledge and skills of Beginner level
– Further develop sound production techniques
– Pitch control on higher positions
– Develop musicality through performance and sight-reading skills
– Preparation skills before playing
Advanced Level
