Foundation
The curriculum is designed for students who wish to develop a structured visual art capability. It covers all four key areas of art education: Aesthetics, Creation, Analysis, and Art History.
Learning Objectives
- Develop artistic thinking skills such as exploration and experimentation, imagination, expression, work development, observation, evaluation, dedication, perseverance, and understanding the art world.
- Enhance knowledge and ability to apply artistic elements (such as line, shape, color, and material) and design principles (such as rhythm) in the creative process.
- Practice and advance techniques and skills in using a variety of materials and tools for creative shaping.
- Develop the ability to perceive, describe, and analyze artworks.
- Expand knowledge of the history and world of visual art.
Learning Outcomes
- Express thoughts, emotions, and ideas through visual and tactile mediums, in addition to verbal communication and body language.
- Safely experiment with and use a variety of creative tools and materials.
- Share the creative process behind their artworks and explain their artistic choices.
- Provide an overview and emotional connection to their own works and those of others.
- Gain self-awareness and connect with personal aspects such as emotions, interests, family, and friends.
- Embrace and respect differences, and engage in sharing and collaboration with others.
- Become more comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity, and be open to trying new things and challenges.
